Sarah Jane Mee collage

If you had a 25th hour each day, what would you do?
Sleep! I host Sunrise on Sky News which involves getting up at 3am so catching some zzz’s has become an obsession.

Essential store cupboard ingredients?
Peanut Butter, Chia Seeds, Coconut Oil and  Salad Cream – am I the only one that still loves it? I have it on everything.

What is your ultimate night in – or out?
My ultimate night out is drinks, dinner and dancing with my closest girlfriends
My ultimate night in is someone cooking for me and the new series of Game of Thrones.

 What’s in your handbag?
What isn’t in my handbag that might be easier…my earpiece for TV, J&M Davidson wallet, chewing gum, Aesop hand cream, Terry Baume de Rose, a Mac Prep and Prime compact, a copy of The Week, far too many receipts and lots of business cards that I have been given.

Any cuisines you love or loathe?
I love Italian I’m always eating out on Kensington Park Road which has some great restaurants – my favourite is Osteria Basilico.

What’s your daily uniform?
Skinny jeans and a denim shirt with black boots, Beulah scarf and my Whistles leather jacket or my black All Saints fitted coat.

Why does your job matter to you?
I am challenged by my job every day – no day, hour, minute is the same. Literally anything can happen and I get a thrill knowing it’s my job to tell the world about it.

Was there ever a time in your career where you thought ‘I’ve had enough?’
Never.

When you have a daily work slump, how do you snap out of it – tips?
Chocolate – instant mood lift.

How did you achieve your current role?
Hard work. I started at the bottom as a runner at Sky fetching coffee and scripts for presenters, I’m now at the place where it all started. Work hard and be nice to people – it’s a winning combination.

What would you have told yourself five years ago?
Don’t waste time. I used to find it hard to move on from people or situations that were not right for me and spent a lot of time worrying rather than acting. Now if something happens I just see it as a plot twist and move on to the next chapter.
